Hmmm, my thoughts on what would be bad Gospel music, would be those that are poorly written, those that do not have sound, meaningful lyrics that can change lives, but we were raised to think that if it's not slow with a sleepy melody and "Jesus" lyrics, then it's not Gospel music so that would make it bad and I beg to differ...I'd really like to know what others think about this.
If the gospel music is about Jesus then it can not be bad because Jesus is good so what is good can not be bad because what is bad can not be good, If it glorifying God this is all that matter.

Yes. It comes from bad singers. and bad musicians. I've been to many musicals where a choir is attempting to sing a contemporary song and the musician cannot play it at all, the song is way above his skill level and a another musician gets on a different keyboard and was playing the song correctly, and the other man told him to stop because it was throwing him off and the song was terribly sung and it was a hot mess. It was too terrible to be funny and that's sad. So yes, there is such a thing as bad gospel music.
